At Remsen St. Mary's, we believe technology should support learning, connect our community, and prepare students for life beyond our walls. Our technology program is built around tools that are reliable, safe, and easy to use.

School Devices
RSM provides school-managed Chromebooks to 2nd grade-8th grade students for use during the school day. Each student gets their own and they are kept in carts in their homeroom classroom. High school students bring their own devices from home for coursework. We maintain a loaner supply in the IT room so that high school students always have access to a device when they need one. Our Chromebooks are kept up to date and managed by our technology staff. All students acknowledge our technology policies by signing the Student Handbook. Elementary students
Elementary students access age-appropriate technology with iPads (Preschool-1st grade) and touchscreen Chromebooks in the classroom (grade 2-4).  They also get computer instruction as a special in the grade school "lab," with Mrs. Klein.

Filtering the Internet
RSM uses Securly to filter internet access on all school-managed Chromebooks. Securly blocks social media, games, adult content, ads, and other content inappropriate for school use, and gives our technology staff visibility into browsing activity to help keep students safe online.

Teaching & Learning
Our teachers leverage technology to enhance curriculum and engage students in meaningful ways. Each elementary and middle school classroom is equipped with an IFPD (interactive flat panel display) and high school classrooms use a projector/screen for teaching. The middle school also has a STEM rotation that includes instructional tech classes with Mrs. Klein and high school course electives that include computer science, yearbook, and robotics, with Mr. Kunze.
