On Friday, January 10, we will celebrate and recognize our state baseball and state softball teams at our home basketball games against Harris-Lake Park. We will recognize the baseball team at halftime of the girls game and the softball team at halftime of the boys game. We look forward to a packed gym to cheer on our Hawks boys and girls basketball teams as they compete against Harris-Lake Park in a Friday night conference game, as well as to celebrate our baseball and softball teams from this past summer!

On Wednesday, we will have our Epiphany Mass. All students are encouraged to leave their uniforms home and dress up!

Epiphany commemorates the revelation of Jesus as the son of God, especially to the Three Wise Men, distinguished foreigners also known as the Biblical Magi. Epiphany Eve, or 12th night, marks the last night of the 12 days of Christmas. Usually starting on or around January 6, the season of Epiphany ends on Ash Wednesday, or the first day of Lent, March 5 this year.

Fun fact: King Cake, with its green, purple, and gold jewel-tone colors, symbolizes the Three Wise Mens' (also called kings) arrival, and is traditionally served on Epiphany in New Orleans and throughout the ensuing Mardi Gras season. A small plastic baby Jesus is hidden inside and the person who finds it is said to receive good luck in the coming year.

The Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Foundation awards scholarships to eligible families in our diocese who want to give their children a Catholic school education and can't afford it. The deadline to donate to this year's fund is December 31, 2024. You get a tax credit for 75% of your gift. Due to the predicted weather, tonight's basketball game against South O'Brien will be a varsity only girls and boys game starting at 5:00 PM. There will be no JV boys game. The Hall of Fame Inductions scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled to Friday, February 7.

Junior High boys' practice will be at RSM, 3:30 -4:30pm.

Please bring us the tabs from your aluminum beverage cans until Tues., 12/17. We are bringing them to Ronald McDonald House on Wednesday, Dec. 18, for our high school service trip. You can drop off the tabs in the high school office.

If you took an ornament tag off the tree to buy a special gift for a child, those gifts should be at school by Wednesday, December 11th. Please include the gift tag, but don't wrap it. Just leave it under the tree by the office. Thank you for spreading joy and love to those less fortunate.

The all-school Christmas Concert is on Wednesday, December 11. Please have your student be there at 6:15 for the 6:30pm start time. Dress-up clothes required!

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass is on Sunday, 12/8, at 4:30, St. Mary's Church.
